A lot of people come to therapy having already done a lot of work on themselves. They know their patterns. They can trace things back. They understand, on some level, why they do what they do.

And they still feel stuck.

That gap between understanding something and actually feeling different is what I work in.

Therapy

How I Work

I am an AEDP trained therapist, which means my work is relational and experiential. AEDP stands for Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, and the name is a mouthful, but what it means in practice is simpler: I am less interested in talking about your experience and more interested in helping you actually have a new one, in the room, with me.

I also draw heavily on IFS (Internal Family Systems) and somatic therapy. IFS is a way of understanding the different parts of yourself that can want contradictory things at the same time. Somatic therapy means we pay attention to what is happening in your body, not just your mind, because that is usually where the real information lives.

I am not a blank-slate therapist. I am warm, direct, and genuinely in it with you. I notice things, name them, slow things down, and sometimes gently challenge you when you are about to escape back into your head. I think good therapy feels like having someone actually in the room with you, not analyzing you from across it.

What I Work With

Anxiety

Anxiety has a way of making itself at home. It shows up in your body before you even know what you are anxious about, it talks you out of things, and after a while it just starts to feel like who you are. We do not just work on managing it. We work on understanding what it is protecting you from, which is usually where things start to actually shift.

Maternal Mental Health

From trying to conceive through pregnancy, postpartum, and the longer identity shift that comes with becoming a mother. This season is harder than anyone tells you it will be, and it deserves more than generic reassurance.

Career Stress

When work starts bleeding into everything else. I work with a lot of people who are high functioning on the outside and running on empty on the inside, including a lot of entrepreneurs who are building something meaningful and quietly wondering how much longer they can sustain the pace. If you have lost the thread of why you chose this path, or you never quite found it, that is worth looking at.

Trauma and Complex PTSD

If you have experienced chronic or relational trauma, the kind that does not always look like a single event, you know that it lives in the body as much as the memory. My approach is paced, attuned, and focused on building enough safety for things to actually move.

Life Transitions

Something has changed, or is changing, and you are not quite sure who you are in the middle of it. A new job, the end of a relationship, becoming a parent, leaving a career you built your identity around. Transitions have a way of surfacing everything that was already there. That can feel destabilizing, and it can also be an opening.

Relationship Struggles

Most of us learned how to be in relationships long before we had any say in what we were learning. The ways you connect, protect yourself, show up or disappear in conflict, those patterns made sense once. In your adult relationships they can feel impossible to change even when you can see them clearly. That is usually where the most meaningful work happens.

Couples Therapy

I am a Level 2 trained Gottman therapist, which means the work is grounded in decades of research on what actually helps couples and what does not.

Most couples who come to me are not in crisis (though it's okay if you are!). They love each other. They just keep getting stuck in the same place and cannot figure out why. We slow that down, look at what is actually happening underneath the argument, and start to build something different.

FAQ

Do you accept insurance?
I accept BCBS and Aetna. United Healthcare is pending. If you are unsure whether your plan is covered, Headway can help you check your benefits before we connect. If you are out of network, I can provide a superbill after each session that you can submit directly to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

What is your out of pocket rate?
My rate is $175 per session. I offer a sliding scale for clients who need it. If cost is a barrier, please reach out and we will figure something out.

Where are you licensed?
I am licensed to practice in Maine, Illinois, and Massachusetts. All sessions are held via telehealth, so I can work with clients anywhere in those three states.

Do you offer in person sessions?
All sessions are currently held via telehealth. This means I can work with anyone located in Maine, Illinois, or Massachusetts regardless of where you are in those states. All sessions are held on Headway's HIPAA compliant telehealth platform.

How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
Honestly, you might not know until we talk. That is what the free 15-minute consultation is for. There is no commitment and no pressure. It is just a conversation.

What can I expect in a first session?
Mostly I want to hear what brought you in and what you are hoping to get out of therapy. I will ask some questions, you can ask me anything, and we will start to get a sense of whether this feels like a good fit.

How long does therapy take?
It depends entirely on what you are working on and what you want from the process. Some people come for a focused period of time around a specific thing. Others stay longer. We figure that out together as we go.

What is the difference between therapy and your coaching program?
Therapy is a clinical service focused on mental health treatment. My coaching program, Realign, is for therapists who want to build income beyond sessions. It is not a clinical service and does not involve diagnosis or treatment.

I am not sure I am ready for therapy. Can I still reach out?
Yes! The consultation is free and low stakes. You do not have to have it all figured out before you get in touch.
